Bring Back The Break

What I did in the holidays:

This week we have been writing about our holidays. I like doing this because I had a really good holiday.

REFLECTION: I think that I did well with this, I also think that everyone else did a good job as well. The rest of my class did it as well so look at their blogs too.

SOURCES: IO got the information from myself and my brain! Oh yeah, I got the pics from my parents.

QUESTION: Can you write about your own personal experiences?

Reptiles and Wolves

INTRODUCTION: This week we have been learning about reptiles for reading and for writing we have been learning about information reports.

This is my DLO about reptiles and wolves:

REFLECTION: I think reptiles are very interesting to learn about, I also think that wolves are very amazing.

QUESTION: Which one do you think is more fantastic?

I wandered lonely as a cloud poem response (By William Wordsworth)

The connections I made to the title was when your friends ditch you and you are trying to find a new friend or two. That's sad cause if I was like that I would want a warm hug from Olaf.

The poem was organised in four stanzas each with six lines and the rhyming pattern was ABABCC ABABCC ABABCC ABABCC.

The tone of the poem for me was happy and at the same time sad and pale. I think it was happy when it says "golden daffodils" and I think that it is sad when it says "They flash upon that inward eye" and pale when it says "I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o'er vales and hills".

The poetic devices in this poem are personification, simile, hyperbole and alliteration. There is alliteration when it says "but be" there is hyperbole when it says "ten thousand I saw at a glance" because well there are not that many daffodils so it is an exaggeration there is another one when it says " a host of golden daffodils" because daffodils are yellow and how can they be hosts?. There a simile when it says "continuous as the stars that shine" and there is lots of personification like when it says " fluttering and dancing in the breeze" and "tossing their heads" and the waves beside them dance" there is two more the second to the last one that I found was "outdid the waves in glee" and last but not least "and dances with the daffodils".

I think the meaning of the poem is thinking about not losing your friend and what you can see around you when you pay attention to the things in our world.

If poetry response

The author of this poem is RUDYARD KIPLING.

The connections that I, made to the title was if something happens out of the blue or suddenly to you but you don't expect it to happen.

The poem was organised like 4 stanzas each with 8 lines and the rhyming pattern is AAAABCBC ABABCDCD ABABCDCD ABABCDCD.

The tone of the poem for me was when you read this poem it feels like it's the boys dad or mum saying advice to their son so that he knows what to do when he gets older I think that because it says “And which is more you’ll be a man my son!”

The personification and hyperbole. There is Hyperbole when it says "to keep your head when all are losing theirs" And "You can meet with T

riumph and Disaster". There is personification when it says "Don't deal in lies" and "can dream and not make your dreams your master" last of all "treat those two imposters just the same".

The meaning of the poem for me was when your parents are giving you advice about something and YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION.

Returned soldier poem report

The connections I made with this title is when a soldier comes home and everyone is celebrating his return and mourning over the dead.
The poem is organised like this: 2 stanzas in the first one and it has 8 lines and the second has 12. The pattern of the poem is AABBAABB AABBAABBAABB.
The tone of the poem was this: It makes me feel sad and curious about the war because it is talking about a soldier going to the war and coming back from it.
The poetic devices in this poem were rhyming, hyperbole, simile, alliteration, personification.
What I think the meaning of the poem is the war and how bad it was to have in our lovely world.

Do you think I did well? Could you please comment and give me feedback?😊

Reading poetry

Reading
So cool that we can read,
So cool that we learn,
It's like a big bead,

That can make a turn.
  It’s a really big need,

It's nothing you can earn.
Now I made it a bit cooler by adding a background!

Civil Rights Movements aim to give everybody an equal right regardless of color skin color, gender, nationality, religion, disability or age. The aim of the movement which peaked in the 1960s was to ensure that the rights of all people are equal and are protected by the law. Civil rights include a number of things, for example, the right to free speech, assembly, a fair trial. You can read more about this and the amazing people that helped to make these changes below. As always have fun learning and enjoy.

The realm of the Mariana Trench

On Monday I read the text and I found out that there are extremely weird creatures down there. Then I made a slide for all the info I found. We can not see down there because it is pitch black.

On Tuesday I continued learning about Mariana Trench so, on Thursday, I could share my learning. I found out something really cool if you put icy Mount Everest in the deep Mariana Trench the top of it would be 2 km underneath the surface of the water!

On Thursday I wrote a recount to tell you what I learnt so that you can learn. Talk to you later.

My Poem.

On Tuesday at literacy, when I started writing a poem about something, and you can listen to it because I did put it on a screencastify so you can watch it, it might be a bit embarrassing because my friend got in it.

First I looked at what I had to do, then I did a screencastify telling you what it is.

Then I made a challenging challenge for you guys to do to find out what I was talking about!

Lastly, I put it on a slide and published it on my blog.

So yeah, you'll have to guess what it is.

I like using screencastify because then you can look at someone's face well they talk, that's why I like using it.
